Type Locality and Naming

Northwest corner of Jiangxi. The Chengshanting Fm was named by Jiangxi Party of Regional Geological Survey in 1982 and was formally published by Xu Bei in 1987. The typical section is located in Chengshan village east of Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province. Middle formation in Xiushui Gr.

Synonym: （程山亭组）


Lithology and Thickness

The Changshanting Fm is subdivided into two lithologic parts. Lower part is composed of purplish gray to black, very thick-bedded tuffaceous siltstone. Upper part is composed of dark gray thick-bedded tuffaceous siltstone and tuffite with a layer of purple tuffaceous siltstone. A total thickness is about 120 m
